Plate for In the Flow
Plate for In the Flow

This was one of the first ever collagraph plates I made on my 'Introduction to Collagraphs & Safe etching' week long course at the Handprint Studio.
It was made out of mountboard and acrylic paint and sealed with a thin coat of shellac.
The finished plate was initially inked up by using brushes & rags and then I was shown how to use the viscosity method of applying additional ink with rollers.
After pulling five prints on paper I cleaned off the ink from the plate, put it in an old envelope and put it away in case I wanted to revisit it at some point.
During a bit of a studio clear out a couple of years later I discovered it again and decided to keep it as a reminder of the fun time learning the basics of collagraphs & etchings with Peter Wray & Judy Collins.

Size: Framed 21cm x 21cm
