2020 - 2024
The inspiration for a lot of the artwork in this gallery reflects the times we were living in and coping strategies necessitated by world wide events totally out of our control. Not being able to travel meant I looked to the local environs for inspiration, which was how my village quarry and beck projects came about. My scientific education means I approach projects very methodically, observing & collecting & recording information in the field then writing up back in the studio followed by further research online, before finally moving into creative mode.
Online creative networking, exhibiting and learning opportunities flourished during this time which also provided motivation and inspiration to keep making art, some of which can also be seen in this gallery.
The varying dimensions of the images in this gallery means you can see at a glance the shape of each individual artwork, clicking on the image will give you more information including the dimensions. My finished artworks vary in size to such an extent that the small introductory images cannot sensibly be displayed at their correct relative sizes.
