Division in the Evolutionary Landscape
Division in the Evolutionary Landscape

The plate for this collagraph evolved in a very interesting way.
I had a friend join me for a day in the studio & not feeling very inspired I ended up sitting at my desk cutting up some circular prints that hadn't worked just as something to do.
The resulting pile of paper sat on my desk for a while & then one day I had a play round with the pieces and glued some onto mountboard,
cut it in half & ended up with two promising looking collagraph plates reminiscent of a geological cross section of a landscape.
I printed a number of collagraphs on paper and used the plates themselves as artworks for what became my Evolutionary Landscape series.
The 'division' part of the title for this one came through me making a big mistake when trimming down a collagraph
but was neatly rescued by mounting the two wrongly cut pieces on watercolour paper.
