Printmaking is the bedrock of my creative practice.
My favourite part of the process is the plate making, especially the collaging involved in make a collagraph plate.
I am not so good at getting round to actually printing from them so often there is an ever growing pile of 'to print from' plates in a corner of the studio.
Plate making can be easily done in small stages but the printing from them demands a bigger chunk of time because of the setting up,
tidying away & cleaning up processes involved on top of the actual printing process.
In my early days of printmaking I had to travel to be able to have access to a press so I made plates at home and had a printing session once a month.
Having my own press should in theory mean that I get to print regularly but the rest of life happenings can so often get in the way!
